Psalm 107 stands out in the way it so accurately captures the harrowing and varied experiences of life without God. We may live vastly different lives, and suffer and struggle in different ways, but that universal sense of longing and of need is recognisable to us all. God has a way of breaking us so that he can heal us, of causing us to come face-to-face with our sin so that we can experience his love as our redeemer.
