Living as a Christian means experiencing a strange relationship to the world. We feel the sense that this world is not our home, and that home is wherever Jesus is. The Apostle Peter makes sense of this experience when he calls the followers of Jesus ‘exiles’ or ‘refugees’. We live between two ages, and our hearts are really with Christ.

One of the greatest problems in the Christian life arises when a person does not acknowledge this reality. Suddenly they can’t make sense of suffering, or of conflicting desires, or of injustice. But when you embrace this new identity, you can learn how to relate to the world whilst remaining faithful to Jesus.

This series explores some of the most powerful dynamics of living in exile through the lens of the letter, 1 Peter.
