The Grace of the Father was written by a married couple from our church, also on vocals, inspired by the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
The song moves from a reflective start (the broken, homeward walk) into a celebration of God’s grace (the Father’s embrace).

Lyrics
Verse 1
Spirit you lead me back to my senses
Only true joy is found in your presence
The heavens proclaim your radiant glory
Who could approach the One who is holy?
Pre chorus
Turning back with eyes downcast, I come
Though still far off with open arms, you run
Chorus
Father your grace, it calls us home
It brings us to our knees
Father your arms are open wide
You’re running after me
Father I’ve sinned
I am not worthy to be called your son
God it’s your grace we stand upon
Verse 2
Jesus you carried all my offences
Heaven rejoices in my repentance
The cross says it all, your heart is still for me
I can approach the Holy of Holies
Bridge
How deep, how high
How far, how wide
Is your unfailing grace?
The lost are found
The heavens resound
The splendour of your name
